a jar media fantasy au, set in a shadowhunters/the young blood chronicles(ish?) setting where the jar boys are monster hunters. also other youtubers are in on this au but it’s mainly just our jar boys and the co. the official name for it is hit that switch and watch the heads roll, but i mainly just shorten it to htsawthr.
it takes place in a futuristic ish city. probably in the universe’s overall timeline, somewhere in the present right now. probably as big as a country. and forest and really wild stuff surrounds it, teeming with monsters, but the city is also rad. i’m still developing it. anyway, it’s noir. specifically, neonoir. neon shit, neon weapons, i can jam to the pina colada song for ages.
anyway, that’s where jar media come in- masquerading as radio hosts on a weekly city podcast, they make sure things don’t go wrong on the supernatural low.
alex is the leader- jamie also occasionally tags along, but he’s mainly the mechanic and healer for the guys and takes care of their battle dog, argyle. (he’s also lowkey a water nymph but shrug) ruben is the firearm, the guy who shoots and talks later- born for fighting and raised in a very hostile environment. james is the pacifist and lowkey the most mad out of them, who’s brought along a demonic ghost by the name of dick (yes, this is dick the head in this au. get used to it. flossy also appears at one point. the jartists are in this au too but idfk how to fit them in.).
at one point, the guys get out of cahoots with their employers and uncover a conspiracy. they are inevitably forced to team up with monsters and humans alike to stop the end of the world- shit hits the fan, the three words are thrown around once or twice, and there’s lots of violence.
